...a little history

Just like Jessica Biel, Keri Russell and the guys who created 'South Park', Amanda hails from beautiful, sunny Colorado. She developed a love for performing at a young age and at the age of 10 was cast in her first show, How To Eat Like a Child (and Other Lessons in Not Being a Grown-Up). This led to more opportunities with the theatre company Kidskits, also based in Denver. She continued furthering her acting education with classes at local arts facilities and with voice and dance lessons. Amanda was very active in her drama and choir departments in junior high and high school (translation: drama/band/choir nerd).
Amanda graduated in 2003 and began the theatre, film and television program at the University of Colorado at Denver. In school, Amanda was nominated for two Irene Ryan awards for her roles in Chekhov's The Marriage Proposal (Natayla) and Ed Graczyk's Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (Sissy). For her senior project, she co-wrote, produced and acted in a one-woman show entitled Bunny Loves Me, This I Know. Amanda was also a finalist for the Oxygen Network show, Girls Behaving Badly with Chelsea Handler and the woman who played Kip's girlfriend in Napoleon Dynamite. She graduated in December 2007 with a B.A. in Theatre, Film and Television.
After graduation, Amanda joined the improv group, Knit Wits, who performed regularly at the Bovine Metropolis in Denver and eventually produced their own show at the Vintage Theatre. Additionally, she has made a number of independent films, shot a pilot for PBS entitled Good Grief, and performed in the regional premiere of The Glider as Christina with And Toto Too Theatre Company.
She moved to Brooklyn in 2008, and has performed in a number of off-off Broadway productions. Amanda is also treading the waters of the comedy circuit, performing improv, sketch and stand up comedy. She has taken classes at UCB and coached for the short form team, The Red Tie Mafia. She is currently doing voiceover for the upcoming animated web series Astro Cons (fall 2012), and performs monthly with sketch group, Uptown Girl.
